SUBJECT: IU Bates Scholarship Reminder
The International Union’s U.S. Bates
Scholarship Program, administered by the National Merit Scholarship
Corporation (NMSC), selects three students annually to receive
$2,500 per year toward their college education for up to four
years.
Unlike a number of scholarship programs, the
U.S. Bates application process begins in a student’s
junior year in high school. To apply, a student must be the
son or daughter of a U.S. BAC member in good standing, a high
school junior, and have taken the standardized “PSAT”
exam in his/her junior year.
Complete information about the U.S. program
and a link to the online application form are at BAC’s
website at http://www.bacweb.org/member_benefits/education/bates_us.htm.
The application deadline is March 1, 2010.
Once the application deadline is past, entrants
who progress in the competition will be notified directly
by the NMSC by December 31, 2010. Winners will be notified
by April 2011.
We encourage you to remind members about this
important benefit through your newsletter and/or a link on
your website. If you have any questions or need further information,
please contact the BAC Education Department at clamber@bacweb.org
or 202-383-3110.
Thanks for your attention.
